One of the primary goals of the
Education Resource Center is to provide services and resources that
help students and faculty acquire the requisite skills to meet current
needs as well as for life-long learning.
The ERC is located on the second, third and fourth
floors of the DeBakey Center. The ERC circulation desk and staff
offices are on the second floor. This floor also has open study
areas, study carrels and walk-up computers. The ERC provides curriculum
support
for BCM students,
faculty,
and residents.
Wireless LAN, or WLAN, is available to the Baylor
community anywhere on the main Baylor campus. Wireless is also
available in all of the Baylor offices in the Baylor Clinic, the
Faculty Center and at the John P. McGovern (Nabisco) campus. This
map shows the location of wireless access areas. The ERC can
help you configure your laptop to access the Baylor wireless network.
Do you have an X-ray to scan or perhaps 35mm
slides you need to convert to digital format? The ERC has the equipment
and staff members are available to assist you with scanning and
imaging software.
The ERC provides a variety of electronic resources,
texts, productivity software and imaging software, as well as
electronic
course support through Baylor Educational Computing Network also
know as BECON.
Many of our online resources are available from
your home computer. Some require a Virtual Private Network (VPN)
setup. Visit our Off-campus Access page
for instructions about setting up
a VPN connection. Please
refer
to the chart on the Online Resources
page to determine off-campus access availability.
