Some of the online resources provided by the
Education Resources Center are accessible from your home or other
remote locations.
See online resources table. To access
these resources you need to set up a Virtual Private Network (VPN)
or a proxy connection on the computer
you use.
A virtual private network (VPN) is a private
data network that makes use of the public telecommunication infrastructure,
maintaining privacy through the use of a secure protocol and special
security procedures. It is more secure than a proxy
connection.
In order to use a VPN connection, you will be
required to install and configure the VPN software on the computer
that you will be using to remotely connect to the Baylor network.
BCM Information Technology provices the VPN software client and
the instructions to download and install it. Please visit their
page at https://intranet.bcm.tmc.edu/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.showpage&tmp=it/helpdesk/
hdremote_vpn. Please note that different clients are provided
for the various operating systems. Be sure to choose the client
appropriate for your computer's operating system.
You can also get access from home to electronic journals and databases
at HAM-TMC Library. You must have a HAM-TMC library card, and you
must register for the Web
Proxy access.
