Discussion

AP and lateral views of the knee (1/30/96): There is an expansive lesion of the lateral femoral condyle extending into the metaphysis.  The mass is producing cortical destruction and extends into the soft tissues surrounding the distal femur.
MRI study of the lower extremity:  There is a heterogeneous mass involving the lateral femoral condyle with juxta-articular extension.  Moreover, there is expansion of cortex with areas of cortical breakthrough both laterally and posteriorly associated with a small soft tissue component.  The mass has a fluid level, which most likely represents hemorrhage and also has other areas of heterogeneous signal.  Margins of the mass are also irregular.
AP and lateral views of the knee (3/27/96):  Here the tumor has been removed and the site has been packed with filler mixed with barium.
