about BECON

FYI: Need to get up and running in BECON in a hurry? This Quick Start presentation will walk you through the basics!

BECON is the course management system from Blackboard Inc. used by students and faculty at BCM.

BECON is hosted on a server which is behind a firewall. When you access BECON from your home computer or computers that are not in the BCM domain, you will need to use a VPN connection. Use your BECON userID and password to log on to the system. Remember, your ID and password is not the same as your Baylor email password. BECON and the Baylor email are independent of each other. Your password for BECON is issued by a BECON system administrator.

Students with computers running the Vista operating system should contact the ERC for directions on how to set up a remote connection. VPN does not currently work with Vista OS (July 2007).

Please call the Education Resource Center at 713-798-4746 for assistance with your BECON username and password.
